Big Fish Little Fish classes invite adults and children 3-6 years old to learn together through play, movement, and exploration. Children will use their observation skills to explore shapes, colors, and textures while touching animals in a private classroom, touring Aquarium exhibits, and participating in hands on activities related to the theme. After your class, revisit your favorite exhibits. Aquarium admission is included!

April 19

Did you know that sea otters have the densest fur of any animal? During this 1½ hour program, you and your child will:

  • Touch tidepool animals in our private classroom touch pool
  • Take a guided tour of the Northern Pacific Gallery
  • Create a fun, ocean-themed craft to take home
  • Forage for food like a sea otter
  • Touch animal biofacts relating to sea otters

January 12, May 10

Learn all about this wiggly, squishy, eight-armed invertebrate. During this 1½ hour program, you and your child will:

  • Touch tidepool animals in our private classroom touch pool
  • Take a guided tour of the Northern Pacific Gallery
  • Create a fun, ocean-themed craft to take home
  • Learn all about camouflage
  • Touch animal biofacts relating to octopus and other invertebrates

February 15

Waddle, migrate, and feed like a penguin! During this 1 ½ hour program, you and your child will:

  • Touch tidepool animals in our private classroom touch pool
  • Take a guided tour of the California Terrace
  • Create a fun, ocean-themed craft to take home
  • Explore feathers, beaks, and other bird biofacts
  • Learn about migration through a fun game

March 23

Learn all about this fascinating, toothy predator! During this 1 ½ hour program, you and your child will:

  • Touch tidepool animals in our private classroom touch pool
  • Take a guided tour of Shark Lagoon
  • Create a fun, ocean-themed craft to take home
  • Compare and contrast shark teeth from different species
